1. We believe that God created all people, loves us with a passionate love, and desires for every person to have a personal relationship with Him.
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
2. We believe that Jesus is one with God and was sent by God to live on earth in human form. He lived a perfect life without sin and died a criminal’s death on a cross to pay the penalty that we deserve for our sin (see #3). He was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead to prove victory over sin and death. Salvation is found in turning from sin, accepting God’s forgiveness through Christ, and committing to a life of obedience.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
3. We believe that because of our sin, everyone is separated from a personal relationship with God until they make the conscious decision to accept God's gift of forgiveness of sin, and turn their lives over to His leadership. Salvation represents a "new birth" whereby our old lives are buried with Christ and we become "new creations" in Him.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10
4. We believe that anyone who has truly accepted Christ as the forgiver of their sins and the leader of their lives is secure in a relationship with Him and will go to heaven when they die. The Holy Spirit lives inside every believer and is a guarantee of God’s presence in their lives.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28
Now it is God who has made for us this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
2 Corinthians 5:5
5. We believe that the Bible is the accurate, authoritative Word of God and should be studied, obeyed, and applied to our daily lives.
But as for you, continue in what you have heard and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it. And how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:14-17
6. We believe the church is a vehicle for showing God’s love in compassionate ways to the world.
Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
